Lay Servant Ministries - Fall 2022

There are three (3) categories of leadership we use within Lay Servant Ministries to develop, prepare, and engage principled Christian leaders for the mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world: 

  • Certified Lay Servant - those trained to serve the local church.

  • Certified Lay Speaker - those who are called specifically to pulpit supply

  • Certified Lay Minister - those who are called to long-term, intentional ministry as part of a ministry team.

To become a Certified Lay Servant, you must:

1. Obtain recommendation from the pastor and the church council or charge conference of the local church 

2. Complete “Introduction to Lay Ministries: BASIC Course."

3. Complete an advanced Lay Servant Ministries course.

To maintain status as a Certified Lay Servant, you must:

1. Submit an annual report and renewal application to the charge conference or church council, giving evidence of satisfactory performance as a CLS

2. Obtain recommendation for renewal from the pastor and the church council or charge conference of the local church 

3. Complete an LSM advanced course every 3 years.
